KARA GOTT WARNER Artist

Kara Gott Warner, first learned how to knit as a child, but not until her early 20’s did she become passionate about knitting. Her career began in New York’s Garment Center in the early 1990’s, designing cut and sew accessories. In 1997, she started designing knitted and crochet accessories, selling on the craft and artisan show circuit. Kara has been designing hand knitting patterns since 2002, and has had her hand knitting patterns published in Family Circle Easy Knitting, Interweave Holiday Gifts, and coming Holiday 2009: Interweave Knits Special Addition Issue: Interweave Knits Accessories.
 
Kara also spends her time as a busy mom, editing books and creating technical illustrations. You can see Kara's illustrations in several popular knitting books, with her latest work in Socks From the Toe Up, and Lily Chin’s Knitting Tips & Tricks. As a book editor, Kara has produced the following books: Tops & Toes: A Whimsical Collection to Delight Hat & Sock Knitters, and It’s in the Bag: Knitting Projects to Take & Make. The books feature her whimsical designs, along with several other talented designers.
