Trashion Fashion Saturday July 18, 2020 Information

WE LOVE CREATIVITY & WOULD ADORE TO FEATURE YOU ON OUR RUNWAY!
We want you to design for our 13th annual Trashion Fashion event featuring the most innovative and talented designers in the area! Trashion Fashion at ARTpool requires designers to create attire from at least 75% recycled, unorthodox materials and captivate with avant garde, couture, editorial looks that are larger then life. A base material such as muslin can be used but all other items seen on the exterior must be recycled.  We have showcased some of Tampa Bay's most popular and creative artists in previous years - here's your time to shine!

All ages are welcome to design, it's free to participate in the show, and you can create 1-10 looks for our runway show.

Email the gallery to get your name on our press release list as a contributing designer asap. Email sketches of your designs and a material list ASAP to [email protected] to be a part of the fun! Photoshoots of completed garments will be shot at ARTpool in June for our pre-show press release so start working early and collecting your materials as soon as possible.  Do ask friends and family if they would like to model for you but if not don't worry just let us know how many models you need and we will do our best to find you amazing models in our community.

The runway show will be hosted at ARTpool Gallery on July 18, 2020 from 8pm-11pm with runway at 9:30pm. Designers and models are required to check in for a preshow walk through starting at 6:30pm.  Professional quality photos will be taken of each outfit and shared online to thousands to viewers!

Designer Guidelines

• For Trashion Fashion: All looks must be at least 75% recycled/upcycled unconventional materials. Fabric may be used as a base only, and must be completely covered, so as not to be seen by the viewer.
• You may design between 1 to 10 looks for a show that fit to the theme.
• Don't forget to include shoes, props, and accessories into your designs.
• If you need models for your show, please let us know ASAP.  We will do our best to hook you up with some people, though the people who attend our model meeting usually model our own clothing collection.
• Designers may not model for other designers.
  • A good option is to ask friends, family, if you have your own shop, even your patrons! Ask on social media. We accept models of all level, so no one should be afraid if this is their first time modeling!
• Absolutely NO GLITTER!! It is incredibly difficult to clean out off of our floors.
• Timeline for the day of the show:
  • 6:30pm You and your models must arrive completely ready
  • 7pm Runway walk-through
  • 8pm-9:15pm Models are placed around the shop to promote and show off your designs, greet patrons, and get their photos taken by our photographers.
    
  • 9:30pm Performances and runway show begin
    
• Prior or 8pm, absolutely no one except for our photographers, performers, models, and designers will be allowed through the doors. No exceptions.
  • ALL other guests--significant others, personal photographers, friends, family, etc.--will not be allowed inside until 8pm, and they MUST purchase a ticket.
• Your models will be standing for at least 2 hours prior to runway, so please have them bring comfortable shoes to wear before the show. They can change into other shoes before 10pm.
• PLEASE eat BEFORE you arrive!  We will have water for all models.
• No model is allowed to drink alcohol or smoke on our premises; we will ask them to leave if we see them drinking we will have to ask them to leave. No exceptions.
• Please do not park on Central Ave, as we try to save those spaces for patrons. We recommend parking on 1st Ave N or 1st Ave S.
