LaWanda L. Walker
JuJuWoman Artworks is the culmination of lifelong St.Petersburg resident and artist LaWanda L. Walker's passion and desire to create and design beautiful unique body adornments.
A self-taught jeweler, I began making polymer clay beads and jewelry in 1988. After falling in love with sterling silver wire bending I turned my focus on combining sterling silver wire and beautiful and unique beads from all over the world to create one of a kind unique jewelry items. All coils, clasps and components are hand done using the finest hardened dead soft sterling silver wire. And with painstaking care and enjoyment I seek out beads and findings from all over the world to compliment and complete each piece. Care of the pieces is easy by simply cleaning with a polishing cloth for a long life of enjoyment. By the way, JuJu is the nickname given to me by my by sister. It's her way of describing the creative, fun loving spirit and light that exudes from within me allowing me to be and do all the things juju. Hence the name JuJuWoman, now that I'm all grown up, kinda. You can see the essence of JuJu captured in my logo created by my very talented niece Erica. When I'm not designing jewelry you just might find me coaching wellness, my other passion in life, acting in local commercials, or singing at a local nightspot. You just never know where you might run into me.
